It is Finished
It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.
Isaiah 59:2 NLT
What happened on the cross?
We believe that on Good Friday, Jesus died on the cross. For six hours, He hung between heaven and earth. Stripped naked, beaten, whipped, a crown of thrones pushed into His skull, nails driven into his hands and feet. For six hours, His physical body fought to stay alive.
Then Jesus declared, “It is finished.” In Greek, Jesus only spoke one word. A word that means the price is paid. The work is finished.
On the cross, Jesus paid the price for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus removed the barrier between God and us. Jesus made it possible for us to have a relationship with God.
We are now free to enjoy an intimate relationship with God. He loves us. Our sins are removed. We can enjoy fellowship with God. We now have the Holy Spirit living in us and guiding us. He is present today for us.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for loving me enough to die on the cross. Thanks for opening the way for me to have a relationship with God.
