No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
Philippians 3:13 NLT
As we approach the conclusion of 2020, many are excited to put this year behind us. Many have suffered loss, pain, and confusion. Many are still struggling with fear and anxiety.
Every new year brings with it an expectation and challenges. At this point, many of us look forward to the new year as a way of cleaning the board of the past year. We want to get past the pandemic and begin to figure out how a new normal will look. Hopefully, it will be a new normal without the fear of infection, loss of jobs, and separation from family and friends.
I’m convinced the isolation has been as tragic as the virus. You know when you have the virus—at least for the most part. But many don’t realize the impact of isolation on mental and emotional health. God designed us to live in community. We can’t isolate ourselves and stay healthy.
What are you looking forward to in 2021?
I look forward to the day we get to hug again without a mask, and when I can sit and talk and pray with people. I want to have friends over to the house and enjoy life together.
Let’s begin to dream about what God wants to do in and through us during the coming year.
Holy Spirit, please show me what You want in my life for the coming year. Show me how I can be a part of the solution for changed lives.
