Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
Psalm 103:1-3 NLT
There is nothing too hard for God. There is no sickness God cannot heal. There is no disease God does not want to remove from our bodies.
The picture we get from the Bible is that sin and sickness seemed to go together. Before the sin of Adam and Eve, there was no sickness on the earth. Man’s rebellion against God initiated the deterioration of the physical body originally designed to live forever.
Our physical bodies will at some point die. But I do not believe we have to live with sickness in our bodies before that appointed time of death. I do not fully understand this process because I have experienced some godly people suffering from sickness and disease. So, I do not believe it should be a blanket statement that if someone is sick, it is because of sin in their body.
Some sickness is due to age and the body simply wearing out. Other sickness is due to improperly caring for our body. Other sickness is from being exposed to elements that bring foreign infections into our body. But much of sickness is due to stress and choices that we make that destroy our body’s immune system.
Regardless of the reason for the sickness, God is able to heal all our sicknesses just like He forgives all our sins. God’s grace is not available for only certain sins and not others. His grace covers all my sins.
In the same way, God’s healing power covers any sickness that would come into my body. Regardless of the reason for the sickness or disease, God has the power to heal all my sickness.
Father God, I thank You today because You forgive all my sins and heal all my diseases. I ask You to show me what I need to do to partner with Your healing in my body. I ask You to release Your wholeness in my body today. In Jesus’ name, I accept the work of Christ on the cross for my forgiveness and healing.
