Nothing is Impossible
The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.”
Luke 1:35 NLT
With God, the impossible becomes possible. Even though the Old Testament prophets had talked about God sending a Messiah and that He would be Emmanuel, God with us, they didn’t fully understand what God was going to do.
The concept of God actually wrapping Himself in human flesh was a New Testament revelation. The people of the Old Testament thought that was just a play on words and that the Messiah would have a special anointing from God to be a great leader and deliverer of the people in their distress and difficulties.
Only after Jesus came, died, and rose again did His followers realize He was God in the flesh. He was the Son of God wrapped in human flesh. He had an earthly mother but not an earthly father. Jesus was, and is, the Son of God.
That seems impossible to our human minds. We are too limited to fully understand all the hows and the implications of Jesus as fully human and fully God. But what it does mean is that God can do more than we can understand.
Let’s rejoice in the fact that nothing is impossible with God.
Heavenly Father, today, I rejoice in Your gift of Jesus. I rejoice that nothing is impossible with You. You are God, and there is no one like You. I want You to be God in my life. I want to see You working the impossible in and through me.
